This is 'Jerry', a 1971 1302 VW Beetle that has been garage stored
since June 2006 and has covered less than 3500 miles in the last ten
years! In his time of storage he has been started and waxed regularly
so has not suffered one bit whilst resting.
Jerry has been the
focus of much time and money, and there is hardly any area that has
not received attention. As afficianados will know, the 1302 is a much
better handling car than earlier Beetles but retains the 'flat screen'
appearance. With its firmer lowered front and rear suspension and wider
tyres, the road-holding is fantastic. The front brakes have been changed
to discs using genuine VW parts, so it stops very well too. The fully
dressed-up twin carburetor engine starts and drives really well, and
I would have no reservations about jumping in this Beetle to drive up
to Scotland and back.
The pearl blue paint
looks gorgeous and shows a purplish hue in some lights and from certain
angles which accentuates the Beetle's shape very nicely. The interior
is tasteful and well executed and with the front seats' tilt-and-lift-forward
action, access to the rear is better than standard.

As you can see, Jerry has been a much loved car and whilst he has had
some welding work done, this has been carried out to a good standard
and is all either painted or undersealed. A very much above average
example of a 1302 Beetle that should give many more years' motoring
at a bargain start price.
